Simon Says Stamp August Card Kit

Love the stencil in this August Card Kit from Simon Says Stamp, which I believe has sold out. This was a fun kit with some great papers from My Minds Eye and I love the burlap embellishment, even though I broke the button when I accidentally ran it through my big shot. I managed to salvage it with some glossy accents though.

Hope you like them.

I used embossing paste, dylusions, plus stamps and papers from the kit. Of course the main attraction is the stencil.

I used the stencil again, only this time I used Distress inks. the paper matched the stencil perfectly. I then added the button and twine included in the kit.

From the kit I used the card , the burlap flower, twine, stamps and paper. I added a Tim Holtz texture fade and an embossing folder freebie from a magazine.

A fun card using some papers and stamps from the kit. I added some red stickles and black emamel to give it some punch.

I used some Distress stains and white pigment ink for the clouds. I cut the balloon from one of the papers and used the stamps included in the kit.

Simon Says Stamp July 2013 Card Kit

Just a quick post. below are  some cards made using the Simon Says Stamp July 2013 Card Kit. Coming from Australia, Our card kits arrive a little later, hence when the rest of the world is creating with the August Kit, we are still on the July Kit.

This set is so versatile, I made 3 distinctly different styles with the one kit.

This next card uses the same stamp

This card's background used Dylusions Sprays and Delicata Gold ink

The last one uses a mixture of papers from the kit

Hope you like them

Anything Goes

A long spell between drinks, I have missed the last couple of Simon Says Stamp Challenges. But thought I would have a go at this one. It is an "Anything Goes" Challenge. So I just looked through a few Die cuts that I had lying around and went with it. One of my most favourite Tim Holtz dies Is the Bigz - Caged Bird Die.
I coloured it with various distress inks and Metallic/distress stain, all Tim's. I then embossed some green cardstock with a Spellbinders M-Bossabilities Embossing Reversible Embossing Folder - Butterfly Kisses. and lightley brushed over the raised areas with Forest Moss - Distress Ink. I rounded the corners using the We R Memory Keepers Corner Rounder, then brushed the edges with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink

I attached the cage to the cardstock with foam squares after threading green fringed thread through the bottom holes. I bowed the cage to give it a more 3D look and threaded the bird through the bars attaching the wing to the outside. I used a stamped metal brad from Graphic 45 and attached some gold/yellow gemstones from Delish to the middle bar of the cage.

I have some 12 X 12 vellum quotes that I have had forever, and cut out one of the quotes which I again edged with Forest Moss & Gathered Twigs and attached it behind the cage with vellum adhesive. the quote reads "I Imagine - therefore I belong and am free" I attached some small flowers and a leaf to the bottom corner of the cage, attached a wish ticket from Tim's Adage Tickets with a a mini paper clip from Tims Ideology collection. I edged the Birds wing, the flowers and the leaf with Rock Candy Stickles and placed a pearl in the center of each flower. For a bit of fun, I finished off with a googly eye for the bird.

Hope you like it. Please leave a comment I'd love to hear from you.

Simon Says Stamp Card Kits

I have been buying the Simon Says Stamp Card Kits for over a year now, but for whatever reason, never seemed to have the time to make anything from them, except for the July 2012 Kit which can be seen in an earlier post, by clicking the link.

Well I ran out of room and thought, this is it I am going to make at least two cards from each kit. I had so much fun I am now completely up to date, and can' wait for the July 2013 Kit to arrive. Below are the card kit supplies and the cards made from them:

June 2012

This was the kit that made me want to subscribe and I still love it.

August 2013

This was a kit that had my favourite paper stash in it My Minds Eye Indie Chic - Ginger

September 2012

Amazing how at first I wasn't too sure what to do with this, having no school aged children. but I am happy with the way they both turned out.

October 2012

Just love the colours in this kit  and the flower in the stamp set is fabulous.

November 2012

I haven't made anything with the December 2012 Kit as it arrived too close to Christmas and my Chrissie cards were all finished, but I will use it this Christmas.

January 2013

I created one of my favourite cards with this kit, not sure why it is, but I just like it.

I really like the above card. as I said before, not sure why, it just appeals to me.

February 2013

I need to play with this kit some more I think, I was a bit stymied with it.

I did have fun making the dresses below though.

March 2013

Loved the Stamp set in this kit, but the rest was a bit to young and girlie for me I think? I struggled with this kit too.
These first two cards I really wasn't happy with the end results, although I do love the flowers.

this one turned out better, I used a Jennifer Maguire technique. masking half of the card. Just love the woodgrain paper.

April 2013

Loved the colours in this kit, definitely need to play with this one some more.

May 2013

Arrived too late for Mothers day, but I have made a couple for next year.

June 2013

Just love the stamp set and paper pad in this kit.

I had two 50th Male Birthday this June, and this kit was perfect. The two below are just for fun.
