Valentines Day

I am currently participating in the  Clean & Simple Card making 2 online class hosted by Jennifer Maguire,Kristina Werner & Julie Ebersole. and Today is Julie's 50th Birthday. Happy Birthday to a lady whose infectious laugh, warm and funny personality, not to mentions her card making skills, inspire and brighten everyone's day.

Now to completely change the subject, today's blog post is all about another celebration. Valentines day. It is a day to tell loved ones how much you care. It may have become commercialized, but you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars to prove your love, a handmade card and kiss, or if you really want chocolate and flowers, (hint hint). no seriously just let those you love know, that even though life gets busy and sometimes we may get side tracked, they are still number one.

This first card is a traditional Valentines day card with lots of hearts. I used the
Hero Arts "Envelope Liner" background stamp with Soft Granite Shadow Ink,
See-D's round love stamp,
Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles - Large Die
Sizzix Hearts Framelets Dies
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Movers & Shapers Mini Hearts Set
Fiskers paper edger
Memory Box/Simon Says Stamp Holiday Shapes die
Ruby Rock-it Upstairs Downstairs - Prudence paper
Neenah White Cardstock
Various cardstock  and papers for hearts and gingham strip
the verse inside the card was a magazine freebie.

This next card was a fun card that just popped into my head. I had made a card and had heaps of
Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Distress Stain, Black Soot & Pumice Stone Distress Inks left on my Ranger Craft Sheet, which I spritzed with water and mopped up with a scrap piece of paper.
It looked so good I didn't want to waste it, so stamped the skull from Tim Holtz/ Stampers Anonymous Apothecary Stamp set and spot stamped the handwriting from the same set. I whitened his teeth with the Picket Fence Distress Marker , and glued a scrap piece of heart ribbon to look like a head band. On Inkessentials Glossy Paper I used Tim Holtz Red Pepper, Pebble & Pearl Mixative Alcohol inks attached the skull added hearts using the Movers and Shapers Heart Set and the stick on letters are from Basic Grey
Hope you like it?

Australia Day

Saturday 26th January is Australia Day, or in Aussie slang "straya day" so to all you Aussies out there "Happy Australia Day". I haven't made anything new, but thought I would post a couple of tags I made for Tim Holtz and Mario Rossi, as a thankyou, and as a token to remember their visit by.

The first two are the back and front of the tag for Mario

The bottom two are the back and front of the tag for Tim

Simon Says Stamp Washi Tape Challenge

Todays card is for the SimonSaysStamp .Washi Tape Challenge
I made a card suitable for Valentines day, but not in the traditional colours, so it could be used as a general card for a loved one.
The card base is heavy Black card stock.
I covered a square of scrap card stock, with alternating strips of black and white dot and 7 Gypsies Trousseau tape.
I used Tim Holtz Movers & Shapers Mini Hearts set, the smaller of the two hearts, and cut the tape covered square, 3 times.
I cut 3 bows from Memory Box Crisp Bows Die.
I put another strip of 7 Gypsies Trousseau top and bottom of some beige hand made paper, and glued the bows with Tombow mono multi liquid glue onto the handmade paper, then mounted the hearts using Stix 2 Anything Double sided foam pads.
The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp
Absolutely Delightful stamp set, using Hero Arts Soft Granite Shadow ink and foam mounted it onto the card.
Hope you like it?

A beautiful summers day in Melbourne after the extreme heat we have been having. My thoughts are with those around the country who have been affected by the bush fires.
these two cards are from the SimonSaysStamp July 2012 Card Kit. I started collecting late, and love the colours in this kit.

Birthday Card for Tim Holtz

Happy New Year everyone, I hope 2013 brings you all happiness, love, laughter and good health.Today is a hot one in Melbourne, Australia and it is hard to imagine how cold it must be in the Northern Hemisphere. After looking at all the beautiful snow pictures taken by the crafters I follow on Twitter, it must be freezing!! This card is one I have made to celebrate the amazing Mr T's birthday. (Holtz that is).The inspirational  crafter/photographer @Linda Ledbetter  from @  has offered a challenge in her finale of the Compendium of Curiositiesn Challenge, to make Tim a card for his Birthday on 7th January, with the chance to win an autographed rare apron. My card tells the story of an amazing man who inspires everyone to journey into their own creativity. The umbrella man in my eyes is Tim. Particularly after his visit to Melbourne in 2012 when he was snapped by the one and only Mario Rossi walking down a rainy Melbourne street carry his black umbrella.
I have used mostly Tim Holtz and Ranger products except for the "Happy Birthday" stamp and various cardstock and paper. Hope you like it
