Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Challenge

I have had such fun making these flowers. I just love this Tattered Floral Die by Tim Holtz. The first Flower was made out of Aluminium Foil, the same as my previous blog. i used the Diamond Plate Texture fade, Textured leaves Texture Fade, foliage Fastener and various Alcohol inks. I also used the Tattered leaves Die .

I love the look of the finished flower, it also looks good on a card

My Second Flower is a bit of mixed media, using Grunge Paper, Tissue wrap, Paint Dabbers, Distress Ink, Rock Candy Crackle, Lace, Foil, Textured Leaves Texture Fade, a Custom Fastener as well as the Tattered Leaves & Tattered Floral Dies.

The finished Flower

Metal Flower

I work for a company in Melbourne Australia called Confoil, We make among other products, Aluminium foil containers, used by bakery's and take away food places. I worked in the factory for 17 years on the production line and am now in the office in Customer Service. Whilst in the factory, I used to collect odds and ends for my card making. Now would you believe I am using some for the Simon Says Stamp - Metal-ology Challenge.

The foil is silver one side and white the other, (used for airline food trays),
I used the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral and Styled Label Dies,
The TimHoltz Alterations Diamond Plate & Riveted Metal Texture Fade set,
Autumn Leaves Word Flourishes "Beauty is all around" Stamp,
StazOn Jet Black ink
Ranger Adirondack Alchohl Inks, Expresso, Pebble, Red Pepper, Wild Plum and Pearl Mixative.
Tim Holtz Ideology Foliage Fasteners
Simon Says Stamp/Memory Box Fresh Daisys Die

The Old Jalopy

This is one of my favourite Tim holtz dies. The car was cut from bright blue cardstock, which I distressed with Black Soot ink and Brushed Pewter & Picket Fence Distress Stain. I die cut the panels in Grey cardstock and distressed with Black Soot. Although you can't see it in this picture I cut some acetate and placed behind the windows for the glass. I used the Tim Holtz Subway Stencil on a copper pearl cardstock which I distressed with a sanding block then rubbed with Picket Fence Distress Stain. Finished off with a folded inked Journalling ticket and some Ideology bits all from Mr T.

Clean & Simple 2 - Days 6+7

Love this first technique from Jennifer McGuire called patchwork stamping, I can see a lot of uses for it.
I felt a bit more comfortable with this one, we had to follow one of the sketches, I followed Jennifer's, but instead of a banner I stamped the sentiment in a hat.

This next card is from Day 7 inspired by Julie Ebersole, It was using big stamps. I like it even though it's cute, I think the Tim Holtz cityscape gives it a little more grunt??

This last card also from Day 7 inspired by Kristina Werner is just pure masking using border stamps.
looks really effective.

Thanks for stopping by

Clean & Simple Card Making 2

This is a very tough class for me as I just want to keep adding more. It is a lot of fun, and even thought I have been stamping for many years now, I am amazed at the new techniques and tips I am still learning.

The first technique was  to leave a lot of white space, It was Julie Ebersole's technique.

Julie's plainly white technique day 4
I used the spatter technique on a mainly white card

Kristina's Chalkboard trend

My white embossing powder is not that good, it blew over the card when I put the heat gun on it!!!
