Valentines Day

I am currently participating in the  Clean & Simple Card making 2 online class hosted by Jennifer Maguire,Kristina Werner & Julie Ebersole. and Today is Julie's 50th Birthday. Happy Birthday to a lady whose infectious laugh, warm and funny personality, not to mentions her card making skills, inspire and brighten everyone's day.

Now to completely change the subject, today's blog post is all about another celebration. Valentines day. It is a day to tell loved ones how much you care. It may have become commercialized, but you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars to prove your love, a handmade card and kiss, or if you really want chocolate and flowers, (hint hint). no seriously just let those you love know, that even though life gets busy and sometimes we may get side tracked, they are still number one.

This first card is a traditional Valentines day card with lots of hearts. I used the
Hero Arts "Envelope Liner" background stamp with Soft Granite Shadow Ink,
See-D's round love stamp,
Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles - Large Die
Sizzix Hearts Framelets Dies
Tim Holtz/Sizzix Movers & Shapers Mini Hearts Set
Fiskers paper edger
Memory Box/Simon Says Stamp Holiday Shapes die
Ruby Rock-it Upstairs Downstairs - Prudence paper
Neenah White Cardstock
Various cardstock  and papers for hearts and gingham strip
the verse inside the card was a magazine freebie.

This next card was a fun card that just popped into my head. I had made a card and had heaps of
Tim Holtz Brushed Pewter Distress Stain, Black Soot & Pumice Stone Distress Inks left on my Ranger Craft Sheet, which I spritzed with water and mopped up with a scrap piece of paper.
It looked so good I didn't want to waste it, so stamped the skull from Tim Holtz/ Stampers Anonymous Apothecary Stamp set and spot stamped the handwriting from the same set. I whitened his teeth with the Picket Fence Distress Marker , and glued a scrap piece of heart ribbon to look like a head band. On Inkessentials Glossy Paper I used Tim Holtz Red Pepper, Pebble & Pearl Mixative Alcohol inks attached the skull added hearts using the Movers and Shapers Heart Set and the stick on letters are from Basic Grey
Hope you like it?
